Topic 2 – World Tour
Part 2
Once we have edited all the background out of the photo, we need to get three different backgrounds of a recognisable location in another country.
Then we copy and paste ourselves into the background image. Voila! It looks like we were really there.

Topic 2 – World Tour
Part 1

Looking at the above image, you may recognise that the background is part of the Botanic Gardens and of course that’s me in the foreground.
It would be normal to assume that this is a real photo, but it’s not. It is a combination of 2 photographs.
The background is from Flickr and the foreground (me) was taken this morning just outside my room.
You’re going to use FireWorks to manipulate a photograph of yourself and inbed it into 3 well known locations. You could use three different images of yourself or the same one each time.
For Part 1 we’re going to learn how to re-size and crop a photo and then how to easily get rid of any background in it.

Topic 1 – Still Life
Part 3
Look at all 3 still life images that you have created with the Word drawing tools.
Which one do you like the most?
What do you like about it? Is it the way that the objects are arranged? Is it the size of the objects? Maybe the colours make it interesting?
Take a screenshot of your favourite still life and save it as a jpeg file.
Import the still into your blog page and tell us about it.

Topic 1 – Still Life
Part 1
Cezanne – search Google to find some examples of his still life art.
Save one image to your Home drive.
Insert the image into a Word document so that it fits on one page. Then print it.
Trace around the basic shapes using a texta or thick pencil.
Discuss & share – did you find all the basic shapes?
Part 2
Choose three elements that you would like to use for your still life.
Create 3 different images of your still life study.
Some things to consider:
- will your elements overlap?
- how big will each element be?
- where on the canvas will each element go?
- will you have more than one copy of an element?
